1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Ribat (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who may use Ribat

You must be at least 13 years old to use Ribat. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission. By using the Service, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to agree to these terms.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or remain inactive for extended periods.

4. Organizer responsibilities

If you create an event on Ribat, you are the organizer of that event. You are responsible for:

• Obtaining any necessary consents from participants before collecting their data.
• Complying with applicable laws in your jurisdiction (including GDPR, CCPA, and local data protection rules).
• The content of announcements, judging criteria, prizes, and any communications sent to participants through Ribat.
• Ensuring that your use of participant data is limited to running your event.

Ribat acts as a data processor on your behalf for event data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Ribat to:

• Upload or transmit illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
• Harass, impersonate, or deceive other users.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' data.
• Scrape, crawl, or automate access in ways that degrade service performance.
• Use Ribat to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam).

6. Content ownership

You retain ownership of content you submit (project descriptions, media, profile information). By submitting content, you grant Ribat a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display that content as necessary to operate the Service.

Ribat's own software, design, and branding are proprietary. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without written permission.

7. Availability and modifications

We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantee. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect active events.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ribat and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ribat operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes go into effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app announcement.
